Springtime in the Great Smokies
Mid-March Status - Early wildflowers are heralding the arrival of spring in the park. Spring beauties, bloodroot, violets, and hepatica are blooming at low elevation. They will be followed in the coming weeks by trillium, columbine, trout lilies, and many other species. The most abundant displays of spring wildflowers bloom during the month of April.
